Poem -

BITTER PILL

A bird stopped by the window
this morning
Perched on the sill
Feathers puffed with cold
Pecking for morsels
Not there
It flew away
As was it's will

You stood on the doorstep
this morning
Shivering and frozen
Desperate
Begging for scraps
Not here
I sent you away
Against your will

I wander aimless today
Searching for bits of myself
Lost
Gone with your cheating heart
I swallow the bitter pill
Wash it down
With my will.
