Bittersweet memories

Bittersweet memories

I got to you door and the door was open, with my last memories of our words unspoken, all we had was a broken heart that fateful day when we did part - so I stood in the hallway nervously hoping you’d come along to welcome me but within the shadows of that lonely room was just my sadness and dismal gloom

Chorus*

And Oh all that is left for me is our songs of melodies with bitter sweet memories of the way that you and I used to be and Oh if I could do it all again,  I would change everything going back to those days of yesteryear with you by my side and never nothing to fear

Well I waited around for far too long, with nobody to listen to my song, the lyrics with words I had wrote for you in my desperation when I was blue - so I guessed you had moved on with your life, maybes found someone else to be your wife, and tho the hurting I was feeling inside was so much stronger than my strength of pride

Chorus *

So I turned my cheek to walk away telling myself to forget you on that day but then out of the darkness of that coridoor I recognised your face once more and as soon as you saw me standing there we forgot all our troubles like we didn’t care - you threw your arms around my embrace in a moment of memory that we could trace

Chorus *
