Black.

The colour of the nights sky - I am.
The colour centred in your eye - I am.
I hide in crevices and corners alike,
Until the sun falls, when I become night.
I cannot be defined as one,
Within the beholder, I truly become,
Grey can be a close substitution,
But I am the colour of pure pollution,
I am darker than the clouds before rain,
For I am associated with darkness and pain,
I am liquid lava, when heat becomes cool,
Hardened and darkened, as a changed molecule,
I never die, even within sunlight I lie.
I cannot be defined as albino, because I am the colour negro.

'awesomeness' is written all over this one, Nicole, great non distracting rhymes, enjoyed greatly
Christopher,
Thank you, I really appreciate your comments. It's so difficult to know wether what you're writing is absolute garbage or not.
I really enjoyed this. Such effortless rhymes are hard to come by. Beautifully written. The first two lines with the "I am" are so powerful. The first and last two lines of this are my favorite. Really amazing write. I really love how you never mention actual black in the poem and that it is just your title. Pinned and all stars. Enjoyed :))
