Poem -

BLACK FEATHERS

If you would give me feathers
Let them be black
For I am a person best suited
To black
White being flimsy
And full of hope
And I am not that person

For I would fly with the crows
Over doves
Crows being more truthful
And real
They promise nothing
Except their presence
And intent

So if you would give me feathers
Let them be black
Malevolent
And stark
Just like the world
And life
And me.
