Black or White

Black white yellow red

Everyone fights, seeking revenge

Bombing screaming all the bloodshed

None of it matters once you're dead

This ethnic cleansing you hypocrite you!

You say you hate me for my eyes are not blue

This man you've killed is my father

This man my brother

This stream flows with my tears and those of my sisters

What really matters? My hair my skin the color of my eyes?

How tall are you whom I now despise?

You will lay in a bed while I sleep in the dust at night

I jave no name no soul because you say that it is so.

Because you may begin to care, you may begin to see the truth.

You may become compassionate, you may begin to help

You cannot help. You will not, you love your vice

Your greed for gold, this addiction that holds you tight.

How can this be? What is this invasion in your mind?

How could you be happy being giving, being kind?

This evil, solidarity, how will this help you?

No, this is no good, this will not do.

But- they are someone's sisters too

To your horror, to your disgust,

You let me in, uou lift me up.

You stare as an owl at my pale, gaunt face.

But im not there, just a skeletal ghost, filling in the space.

Yet you can feel me. Or at least what's left.

You wrap me up, listening for my breathe.

You see me scared, unsure of this hospitality

Which for you is just so new.

Could it be that you were wrong?

Maybe I deserve love too.

Flames lick the soup that spills like ooze.

You see that im hungry, could you spare some food?

With my eyes big as globes I stare at the feast.

This lump of bread and a little meat.

It could last for days, that little bit.

You look around, your teeth you grit.

The gunfight within you fades to a melody.

And Lucifer, that name, becomes a memory.

This thing called race, what is it? What is there to say?

No matter your God, we are all the same

The stye in your eye has been pulled and pryed away.

Cant you see that seething evil, so cunning, so kniving?

You were wrong! All wrong! We are all one family!

We share one father one mother one place to call home.

But black white yellow purple or red,

We are all the same, from day one till the end.
