Poem -

Blank Face

There is a girl striding in front of me,
A girl with no face.
All I see is the back of her head.

Curiosity overwhelms me.
Every time I try to peer at her,
she turns her head.

People smile and wave at her.
She lifts a graceful hand and acknowledges them.

There is a mirror coming up.
This is my chance to see this mysterious blank face.

In the reflection,
her hair is covering her abstruse profile.

I finally pick up the courage to introduce myself.
As my hand almost reaches the fabric of her silk blouse,
she turns and goes into an empty classroom.

Embarrassed by my failed attempt,
I keep on walking.
I abruptly choose to go back and face her.

I walk into the empty room and there is no one.
She is gone;
her face is gone,
there is no one.
