BLEAK GREY

Thought I'd have so much to say
Turns out its just
The same old day 

Cold and biting
Bleak and grey

Got the fire banked
Keep the chill at bay
Got the cider poured
To scare the pain away

But for a moment 
Swear I heard that creak
Of footsteps down
Those heavenly stairs

Sure, the cat get spooked
Upped ran away
When the lights popped out
When I heard you say...
