BLINK OF AN EYE

Dedicated to Tami Johnson Chalker

Growing up quickly in the blink of an eye
Now outspoken and no longer being shy
Sitting on daddy's knee is now part of the past
Looking back now I wish those days would last

My lovely children are much taller than me
Tried to the best I can for them as you can see
Showed them the difference between wrong and right
Told them to respect their elders both day and night

The next generation of kids will find it hard
Sending out emails instead of sending a card
They will find things difficult without a phone
Their one true friend they will never be alone
