Poem -

Blood

awien:)

When I woke up the other night
The blood was on the sheets red and bright
It was part of becoming a woman right?

But how come after the blade slices across my skin
Making lines nice and thin
I cry thinking it’s a sin

This is a different type of blood
Not the one where cotton pads are used to stop the flood
But the one that flows when your thoughts stick everywhere like mud

The night blood trickled down my legs I was mortified
But when I feel the warmth slide down my arms I am satisfied
Hoping that last night would be the final time I cried

The fish of the sea

I really have no words. What a fantastic poem about the tragedy and pain of living with a mental health condition. I find it appalling that out of all the evil and dangerous in the world, truely, we can be our worst enemy. Enjoyed
