Blowing Bubbles

Carried upon a soft whisper
Of a summer breeze
Bubbles float aloft
Dancing amongst trees,
Pleasing little children
With colours so bright,
Swirling all around
Then, soon out of sight.
Â
Delightful globes
Of the richest hues
Of amethyst and jade,
Which would you choose?
Sadly, soon obliterated,
A mere momentary joy,
A child’s rainbow globe
Was such a pleasant toy.
Â
Their elegant fragility
Captivated one and all;
I feel a sense of wonder
As I often recall,
And you, my friend
I’m sure you do too
As this simple pleasure
Your heart did woo!

This is lovely! A really charming poem that invokes summer memories of a simple joy. The little ones shriek with delight as they chase those iridescent bubbles around. I enjoyed reading this poem x
