Poem -

BODY FOR SALE

Bills need to be paid that's what she said
Food on the table Charlie needs to be fed
He's growing up fast and is very nearly four
Kissed him goodnight and left the front door

Left with no choice her body was for sale
Was open to offers for every paying male
Every night the same at just after eight
Street corners or dock side she began to wait

Five hours later Charlie still fast asleep
Into the front door she began to creep
She hated herself for what she became
The oldest profession gives anguish and shame
