Boxing day blues

Twas’ the next night after Christmas day when cold turkey carcasses was there to pick
Some foolish folk had overeaten yesterday and alas they still felt a trifle sick
But Oh how one and all felt thankful with those lovely surprises from good old Saint Nick
And didn’t time fly by so speedily..hadn’t that Xmas day passed quick?..
When little ones and tiny tots rummaged thru their pile of toys
All those wrapped up presents that was found lying on the living room floor.. that delighted excited starry-eyed girls and boys
But Boxing day blues was here and now betwixt the aftermath of bustle and noise
Mothers and Fathers everywhere relax and rest after those cheery, but abit chaotic Christmas shananigans and enjoy the pleasurable, peaceful poise..
There is Grandma sorting out her kitchen, that happy hub of her family home
Whilst sons and daughters with their offsprings..say their greatful goodbyes and drive homeward bound from their festive roam
And courting couples walk the dogs kicking the silky sand by surfy sea and forming foam
Great Grandfathers grouse and grumble..painting passtime pictures of colourful polychrome...
