The Boy With Clothes Of Blue And White

The Boy With Clothes Of Blue And White

I met a boy wearing stripes of blue and white.

At the slightest noise he winces with fright.

I asked him why he wears a number.

A game I thought, unknown to me it was a bummer.

I gave him a piece of cake and he scarfed it down,

And when he was finished he started to frown.

One day walking through my big, new house,

I saw him cleaning, quiet as a mouse.

I tried to get him to play with my ball,

But he said he couldn’t play at all.

I saw a video about where he was at,

And games they played with balls and a bat.

Dad says we are moving away,

But I begged for him to let me stay.

I told Shmuel the bad news,

But he seemed to already have the blues.

His Papa was missing,

And I thought maybe he was fishing.

I told him I could help look for him,

But we needed a plan to get me in.

A pair of clothes I was given,

So I got a shovel and started digging.

While looking around we were grouped

Into a room we hung the clothes on loops.

A room floor covered in ash.

We smelled something like gas.

Trying to escape our dreadful fate,

Mother and father will never forget this date.
