Breakfast at Tiffany's

I had breakfast today,
out with my friend..
one I've known since..
I was nine or ten.
while she buttered toast,
I was bedazzled by her
diamond ring.
"It was Neps ( her late hubby)
and I had it melted down.
for me.."  said she..
He loved this ring,
He polished it every day,
and she put out her hand,
so I could see it's full beauty.
But, she said..
there was gold left over
from the smelt..
and it was poured out
on to a tray..
by chance or fortune..
it formed a object..
and there hanging on
a bracelet was a perfectly
formed heart..
The jeweler rang me ..
and said I dont believe
in this kind of thing..
But a heart has formed
from the remains of
your ring,
and my friend rejoiced
in the place that
Loves him most..

(lovely story my friend told me today, and I saw the heart on her bracelet)

Xxx her husband died tragically from infection from a  duck egg, last year..and he had a triple heart by pass, he was a lovely kind man..I nearly cried over my hard eggs this a.m. but could not as it was a beautiful tale, for the heart to form as the jeweller watched, and he left it as it was..though it was rippled on the back...xxx
