BREAKING THE NEWS

In the child's eyes
IÂ see misunderstanding
In the child's eyes
I see confusion
Disbelief
Bewilderment...
All washed away
With
Tears
In the child's eyes
I see...Â
The dawning of horror
The invasion of horror
The helplessness of horror
Total horror
The totality of knowing
This child knows everything
And understands...
Nothing
This
Child
Understands nothing
Yet
Knows...everything...
In the child's eyes
I see the adult
Already
Damaged
ByÂ
The knowing
AndÂ
The horror
AndÂ
The nothingness
OfÂ
Everything...
A totality of knowing
That can never again
Be Â
Washed
Away
With tears

Marion, Marion, Marion ... You have so very poetically described the utter pain and helplessness and hopelessness of grief in yet another outstanding way. I love how you have used the inner little child to show the brutality and hurt and disbelief that surrounds and encompasses like a bubble when suffering the death of a child. In times of extreme anxiety we all want to be a child again... A place where tears could always be dried and a place where a cuddle from mum put the world right. If only. If only bad things didn't happen. If only we had all the answers to all the questions clearly explained. If only it wasn't real but like a game where the dead aren't dead for long... just a game, and they always get up in time for dinner.
Powerful writing in this poem of yours. Powerful indeed. I wish it could all turn out to be not real for you. Big hugs and a clean, Magic hanky for those tears â¤ď¸đ Stay strong dear Marion x
