Breaking the Void

It is not an easy thing
To wash the stains of darkess
From the innumerable corners of the soul
Not after drawing it in like voluminous vacuity
Welcoming it like a guest whom you were well aware
Would painlessly stab out your eyes
Given the opportune moment
Did you really think it would refrain from shining
Its neurotoxic false light in your face
So eager
Did you hope that it would somehow bring you honour
The contorted sense of honour in sardonic men
Did you honestly believe that transcendant shadows would protect you
From the blistering suns of Truth and Covenant
You, like a page, have been slowly torn out of the Book of the Living
And you allowed it
But in the presence of Agnus Dei
The void you made is broken.
