Breast Cancer Awareness

I have a wee story, I'll relate a tale,
a story of woe that affects a female
who got in the bath and discovered a lump
a small inflamation in her right lady bump
it was under the surface but gave her no pain
to imagine the worst she considered insane

she left it a fortnight, she left it 3 week
before she decided to a doctor she'd speak
the lump it had grown and began to feel sore
'my goodness I cannot ignore this no more'
she saw her GP, he examined her breast
and decided to send her for all kinds of test
an ultrasound, mamagram then MRI
was it breast cancer? was she gonna die?

for what seemed like forever, she had to wait
for results, and her fear got her in a right state
then early one mornin as the birds started singing
she awoke with a start as her phone started ringing
'it must be the doctor' she fearfully thought
'my goodness!! is it the answers I've sought?'
'a battle I'll lose however hard fought?'
'why couldn't it be that a cold I have caught?'

with intrepidation the appointment was set
and it all seemed much bleaker as the weather was wet
the doctor he rose from his seat as she entered
'this doesnt look good' is the thought she tormented
'Please, take a seat' as he gestured with hand
'I'll explain it all fully so you understand,
you're aware of the things that we've recently tested,
a great deal of time by our lab's been  invested,
and here's some good news, there has been nothin missed
the wee lump in your breast is nowt more than a cyst

the lady, relieved at this positive answer
Thank god that she'd had this awareness of cancer
and got herself checked at the earliest sign
now the worry's all gone cos she's gonna be fine.
