Poem -

Breathe

Breathe

I breathe.

Something I've done so many times that I've long ago lost count.

I breathe in,

                  I breathe out.

This deep breath was meant to

Cure me of my doubt.

Instead I have more now.

See, every candle eventually burns out,

Every life has an expiration date.

That breath brought me closer to mine,

I don't have enough to waste.

Everyone has a finite number of breaths,

The last one meaning

                    Death.

I guess what I'm trying to say

               Is live to

                    Enjoy

                       Every

                         Breath.

Loved how the poem ends in a cascade of words.  Reading it aloud I exhaled those words for a dramatic ending.

Keep up the good scribble kid.
