Bright Lights

During the late night, the dark night
There is a beacon
where the water crashes into the shallow shoals-a light
There, before the jagged shoreline
Pirched upon a throne of rocks is the lighthouse

Fishermen, cruise ships, the navy rely on this light
Scowering the dark horizon
There it is                               Sixty feet tall                             Ten thousand lumens

Standing tall like the hero it is
The lighthouse is honored by the seamen
Through rain, fog, and thick ocean spray
That powerful light never ceases to spin, to shine, to guide
Its elegance will leave a legacy

Before the rising sun
After the setting rays of the evening
The beauty begins
The underdog that simply stands bold toward the water
It's the light that saves many boats from a shallow grave
