Broken Kite

Broken Kite

Innocent people we divided,

innocent hearts we divided

erecting borders in between.

somewhere by barbed wire;

somewhere  by huge walls;

mother on one side;

children on the other!

apple tree on this side

apples on other side!

Borders they made

with lifeless things

young armed soldiers

guarded  the lifeless border

day and night like eagles!

Lovely people they divided;

loving people they divided;

to become hated enemies!

happy hearts they broke,

to return  bullets for  roses!

Intolerant men built the border,

but the Sun shone evenly;

doves fluttered as they wished;

rivers flew from one to other

fragrant breeze wrapped alike

soldiers guarding both sides!

Angels they’re during day

but blood-thirsty devils in  nights!

a slight movement on the border

roared hundreds of guns together

until the soldiers’re dead!

Can’t we be friends again?

Can’t we reunite mother and children?

Can’t we help the crying child get back

his broken kite, fell on the other side?

Let’s stop feeding the lifeless border

let’s feed the hungry and homeless

let’s build up trust and faith,

and bring heaven on earth once again

demolishing the devilish borders!
