BROKEN PATH

BROKEN PATH

When the buildings started crumbling around me,
Everything I knew disappearing in front of my eyes.
The road emptying before me,
behind me a big hole.

The eyes of animals in the bushes,
full of unspoken wisdom
and unshared knowledge
hunting out my childhood.

And then the rage
coming from the sky
The thunder, the lighting.
The flooding of my conscience.
The stunning of my mind.

My house invaded
and taken to pieces
While I scramble to develop,
One obituary after another
greets me like a jailer.

The story a series of ends,
Jumping out of windows
over and over again
One fake landing after another
The child eyes me with calmness
and looks at the clouds.
