Budgie Views

Budgie Views

I see you there, sittin in that chair,
Observing from my cage,
You may not know, or even care
But I am quiet the sage.
Take that of human nature now,
Of which I'm quiet well versed,
I watch that soap on the box
Those humans though..,
They're cursed!

You know how I join in
Whenever you sing your blues,
Or hide my head beneath my wing
When you turn on TV news. but
Would you look at that!
That big fat cat
You feed him far too much,
Though to be fair, and fair I am
You keep me safely from his touch.

Yes, I am contented here
And you mostly cater for all I need,
Anyway I'd squark and screech!
Should you forget my seed.
And when you open my cage door
Of course I could fly out,
But I can see those wild birds outside
Searching always, for whatever foods about.
So I'll sit here on my perch
And watch the world from here
Out of the cold old winter wind,
Without a worry or a care.
