Burning eyes

Burn

Gum trees high above me the river at my face the sun's burning my eyes myget skin starting to blister the brown snakes lights slowly up the river to cool his hot belly the kookaburra laugh at my misfortune I think you've better days where I've been in my life travel I am delirious as there is mirage a mind wanders to my youth grey hair and whiskey and a 2/4 s mile I wonder what could have been have a sit alone on the bank for the Murray River I had it all now have nothing reach out of the lights he came touch my angel  I was in heaven I pondered but it was only a mirage at my own insanity tickles my red Australian skin the way for dusk I swag waiting at the camp above the river my head ready to rest now the moonlight mystic Knight  her bubbly the mopoke sings in the night is there a Australian owl noise so sweet to me kangaroos to move through the night of the hear them hot and the bush plays it's tunes to me peace once again in my Australian bush
