Let's make one thing very clear

I will eat cheerfully today
whatever slop
you drop on my plate
with nary a complaint

I just no longer give a damn
about the concept of self pride
that in my contentious past
led to many a messy conflict

Live and let live
is my fresh concession mantra

My hero Eddie on the other hand
with his fake smile
and false cheer
is a slow leak
on our Good Ship Lollipop
that he will burst gradually
with his stealth negativity
until the weight of liberated truth
drowns us all eventually
as I silently cheer with my last breath
the death of social hypocrisy
