Cactus Flower

Cactus Flower

Beautiful glowing yellow cactus flower!
Do you posses some terse eternal power?
Must we humbly sue for favor; to approach?
You always seem to wave at my passing coach!

At my social gesture; scolding needles flair!
Intimidating name; waiting Prickly Pear!
At least the Saguaro seems to beckon me,
Her uplifting arms; is an inviting plea!

Seem to be attracted to her stoic lines!
Being a proper maiden; dressed to the nines!
The penetrating desert; doth wither me!
It also squelches my quest; to be with thee!

Send your uplifting fragrance; rescue my soul!
Beautiful cactus flower; on yonder knoll!

A wonderful and amorous write Jim and festooned with idyllic imagery.
And there are in a certain places maybe a nod or perhaps a wink to The Great Bard himself.
Certainly a sonnet he would enjoy reading as well as this happy bunny.
And glad to see your imagination knows no bounds when it comes to displaying something new and original.
For you don't just simply see the cactus, you see what it can bestow and bloom.
Super write Jim and enjoyed very much reading.ย

Jim here's a clue...
He was born 26 April 1564 โ€“ 23 April 1616).
Was an English playwright, poet and actor.
He is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's greatest dramatist.
He is often called England'sย national poetย and the "Bardย of Avon" (or simply "The Bard") and The Great Bard.
His extant works, includingย collaborations, consist of someย 39 plays, 154 sonnets, three longย narrative poems, and a few other verses, some of uncertain authorship.
His plays have beenย translatedย into every majorย living languageย and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.ย
Hhhmm! A real toughie and good luck with this one.
Maybe phone a friend if stuck, a poetic friend.
