Poem -

Calamity Away from Home

I could have appendicitis, probably should do something about that

What to do
alone in a place not kin
Despite its kindred nature
letting you in

But you are vulnerable
and have no aid
Nothing to secure
no job to get paid

You are a guest
when something goes awry
An agony
that makes you want to cry

It might be critical
but you don't wish to inconvenience
Yet if you say nothing
it might be curtains

The stage is set
your insurance not so
You failed to arrange it
before travel, somehow

Your mind is racing
with billowing fear
but shame and regret
also roam near

Do you ask for help
do you dare try
Or cover your weakness
and slowly die

But where would they bury you
on which earthen soil
And what of your loved ones
their peace you'd spoil

What a dilemma
to become such a burden
Only thing sure is
nothing is certain

You may just make it
Perhaps its not serious
Then again
you may already be delirious
