Calm Before The Storm

The battle lines have been drawn

From their families, thousands are torn

All prepared to die for a cause seen as just

In their commanders they place such trust

Standing shoulder to shoulder so bravely

They know it is hell on earth they will see

Waiting for the fighting to commence

All steady their nerves, with emotion intense

Knowing so many are going to perish this day

They realize there is little to do but pray

This is calm, before the storm breaks violently

This is the time when all crave swift victory.
