CANDLES

what are you doing he said
waiting for the light I said
well, you'll never find daylight
with all your eyes closedΒ
then he opened each curtain in
turn, as he rose
to plant a soft kiss on the tip of
my nose
a well meaning soul
he still pops by... to sigh...
to check I still live that I've not
chose to die
I send him my love as I hear his
feet go, I pray in his life time
he won't ever know
of darkness in daytime and
nighttime alike, how sun and
moon shine but still offer no sight
how light is a candleΒ that in each
resides, of impossible efforts
to coax flames to thrive,
each day,
M ~

The depths that your writing reaches is amazing ... I mean that in a good way. Those words reach in and pull the reader down so there is no mistaking how terrible the poet feels. Your work is pure excellence x
I don't think any of us are happy with our ownΒ work...I read others and think ..I wish I could write like that. I try constantly to write non rhyming stuff as I love reading it but it always goes tits up for me ππ thanks so much love xx
One good poem needs another to keep it company when all around is otherwise dark .. xx
