Canvas

Canvas

The Painter starts with white canvas,
Color a sky of infinity.
Than creates a horizon,
Buildings or perhaps the Sea.
-----------------------------------
Something in the mid dimension,
That all can identify.
Bold and yet somewhat subtle,
And pleasing to the eye.
------------------------------------
Than add some shading,
A highlight here and there.
Perhaps some little details,
Encouraging you to stare.
-------------------------------------
The Poet will send you an image,
Trust the viewer to coincide.
Using vocabulary just likeĀ paint.
On a canvas the reader provides.
---------------------------------------
And like a beautiful painting,
Longing to be seen.
As you read new poetry,...
Set your canvas free.
--------------------------------------
Let the wind of adventure,Ā fill your canvas.
Testing the strength of your ropes.
The Poet is now your Captain.
Embarking on a journey of hope.
---------------------------------------
Allow your Captain to navigate,
The vessel around the reefs.
Close enough to enjoy the beauty.
But safe from the danger beneath.
---------------------------------------Ā
