Poem -

Captain This Hourglass

As I captain this hourglass

i look on as the seagulls pass

the sapphire blue ocean shining

I ask "what treasures do you keep in hiding?"

softly floating along this blue cloud

rising up and then down

always up and back down

never side to side

only forward with the tide

no one else on my journey

but I am in a hurry

for she awaits my return

But this blue being does not turn

for her though I will swim and my ship will pass

because for her I am no longer the captain of this hourglass
