CARNIVAL STAR

CARNIVAL STAR

Go hearts, go carts, pick a side
I dance on an empty stage after closing time
The carnival left town years ago
It's a long shot, speed pitch, try your throw

I play the spoons, the air Guitar
Playing the strings of your heart, your rising star

Carousel doesn't revolve anymore
The poor never got rich, the vindictive settled a score
I play the fool up on that stage
Where the fat man once stood with fists of rage, lion freed the cage

I play the spoons, the air Guitar
Playing the strings of your heart, a late night star

Dance with me if only for tonight
You told me 'bout that other boy, told you it'd be alright
The Sky Coaster fails to soar, the uninspired crowd doesn't roar
I know a gipsy on the edge of town, she can help us, she cured the sad clown,
But till then...

I'll play the spoons, the air Guitar
Playing the strings of your heart, I'll be your star
I'll push you to your limit, see it to the end
Be the next star, together we'll set the trend
