The Castle

One night in the distant light

and yet not far away,

The storm clouds started rolling in,

looking on me as if I were prey,

I drove for miles on a long stretch of road,

with nothing still in sight.

I wondered if I should of taken that road,

because something just didn't feel right.

An hour had past finally at last,

when from the road I saw a castle.

The closer I got, the more I thought,

that this is one big hassle.

The castle was dark from an outside view,

so dark, darker than the night.

The thought of going into the castle,

just gave me such a fright.

The door was slightly open,

I managed to let myself in,

but the moment I turned my back,

the door was shut by the wind.

The inside of the castle was dark,

for a moment, I heard a knock,

I turned my back once again,

to find the door had locked.

I noticed bars over the windows,

which for me was an unpleasant sight,

I knew the moment I saw them,

I'd be there the rest of the night.

A mist had formed in the room,

evil was all around,

I tried to take my steps slowly,

without making the slightest sound.

A whistle; the wind I heard blowing,

coming from somewhere close and within,

I tried to follow the sound,

but was confronted by two hooded men.

They cuffed my hands and legs,

it gave an unbearable pain,

I tilted my head forward,

to find a ball and chain.

They told me not to speak,

for I had been spoken for,

they moved me slightly forward,

to an enormous dungeon door.

I heard people screaming,

they were women and men.

I tried to hold my emotions,

as they started to take me in.

There were people all around,

both the living and the dead,

The smell was overwhelming,

I had to turn my head.

They took me down a ladder,

I knew not what was in store,

they put me into a circle,

and told me to choose a door.

I put up such a fight..... I was no match for them.

they put me into a head lock; roughly threw me in.

I had fallen to the ground,

only to see the door shut behind,

there were no other presence of any other kind.

I feel like its been days, I've been in this cell,

I thought only of the people,

rotting in this hell.

I heard footsteps approaching,

I waited, stood and stared,

they were slowly getting closer,

the sweat dripped from my hair.

They broke into my cell,

it took me by surprise,

they quickly grabbed my chains,

and blind folded my eyes.

They were rushing me up stairs,

I was falling all around,

they got me to the top,

I tripped and hit the ground.

I felt myself bleeding,

even as blood dripped down my chin.

I knew only in my mind,

the torture they were going to put me in.

They undid my blindfold and laid me on floor,

one tapped my mouth,

as the other quickly shut the door.

They tied up my feet and my hand to a machine,

It had many gears,

more than I had ever seen.

They started turning switches,

my heart skipped a beat,

I felt the ropes pulling,

at my neck and at my feet.

I felt my legs rip from my body,

as I let out a blood curdling scream,

then I felt myself awaken,

from this horrifying dream.
