CATS

Marion

somewhere deep
within an amber eye
claws unfurl
and stretch themselves

reach lazilyΒ 
across a polished floor
to gouge it deep and
gouge it more

and yet, whoever passeth by
might miss that wicked amber eye
the gouges hid and buried deep
beneath such feline's fine silk sleek
