CERTAIN

There are few things as sweet
As a world that is certain
When the same blackbird sings
When you close the same curtain
When the same old moon shines
Down upon the same scene
Cos no darkness shows face
In a place so serene
In a town in a house in a bed
Lies the child, red facedĀ
In slumber
Teddy tucked by its side

With a mam and a dad watching
Telly below
While the child dreams safe
dreams
But the child doesn't know

There is no thing called certain
That whole word there is fake
Cos it's not even certain that

A safe child will wake.
