Poem -

Chance

Everyone deserves a chance, you chant, love trumps hate

As you hate the man you call to impeach and replace

Before he’d served a single day or had a chance to fail

You were trying to crucify him with your cross and your nails

He may fail, he may fall, he may be impeached

He may be the worst man to ever hold the seat

As now he hasn’t done that yet and we really cannot know

Whether he will be good or bad, how his presidency might go

The good guys are never as good as you thought they were going to be.

And the bad ones aren’t half as bad as expected usually

They are mostly always moderate from where they seemed aligned before

And have less power then people think, only congress declares war

But you are the judge, jury, executioner, if you only had your way

You will exercise your rights as you take his away

We must support and stand together at the stroke of this hour

We have a voice, I rejoice, thank Christ you’re not in power.
