Change

Change

Did the butterfly mimic a leaf
or did a leaf turn into a butterfly

Perhaps the answer to the riddle
is that a leopard can change its spots

I've seen saints turn into devils
and devils into saints

I've tasted delicacies cured on fermentation
and hosted shape-shifting pets

Even the landscapes of our childhood
morph into cities crude or glorious

And some rural villages sit atop
the memory of former kingdoms

If I were to transform prematurely,
it would be because I am tired of this human form,

nothing else

I love you all so so much!

But the traffic flow is getting beyond my pay grade
