A Character In The Making

Who are you that's looking at me?
I bet your thinking that same thing.
This person held safely in hand,
Who yet can't walk or talk and barely stand.
The fussing and crying soiling themselves,
Stress level arises deprecating health.
Sleepless nights,
Invoking couples fights.
All for an invisible price,
In the heart it reserves it rights.
The face and the faces made,
For you no smile will ever fade.
Features distinguished in the constant growing,
The foretelling of personality without ever knowing.
So much is planned already for you,
Don't change too fast cause the cuteness you'll lose.
All the joy I helped to make,
To teach and treasure instill and shape.
And here as im holding you i think i never want to let you go,
Stunt your growth keeping you close to home,
But the fascination of curiosity has gotten the better of some.
I just can't wait to see what you become.
