CHARLIE

CHARLIE

Charlie sleeps in a doorway on Macklin StreetĀ
Ragged clothes on his body, no shoes on his feetĀ
Shouting to Amanda does anybody hear ?
Everyone ignores Charlie who smells of whisky and beerĀ

Charlie how do you survive and get through the dayĀ
People stare at you and look the other way
You look so different and so strangeĀ
Asking for money and any loose changeĀ

Charlie my heart goes out to youĀ
I wish there was something I could doĀ
As I throw a pound into your hatĀ
I am thankful for what I have its as simple as that
