Chased

Chased

I keep them alive
those demons of mine.
Stronger, bolder,
becoming redefined.

They chase me,
goad me,
unceremoniously
scold me.

They make me wonder,
have the choices I made,
guided me wrong;
my path asunder?

Some friends say,
"too hard on yourself,
a price on yourself
you need not pay!"

Yet without this foe,
I become lost, so...

...in then end,
stronger I am,
the demons that haunt,
become not foe,
but friend.
