Poem -

chasing yesterday

The door is open like the sky

How many times I said goodbye

I wrote us off no use to try

But stayed with just a heavy sigh

Ā

Green And gold the trees turn round

Losing years without a sound

The baby weeps in its lonely crib

How did we end up like we did

Ā

I see the sadness in your eye

We end up here how hard we try

Can we break down the prison door

And make our happy home once more

Ā

I know we have drifted quite a while

We failed before trial after trial

How I Remember when your eyes beguiled

I am Ā still the man who wants your smile

Ā
