~ Childhood Comes Seeping ~

~ Childhood Comes Seeping ~

Slow sleeping
In the late afternoon
My daydreams ease
So perfectly
Through my grandmother's hands
As I cross the street
Deep into the forest of memories
That are my childhood's
Tapestry...

A Wonka-like impression
Rolling out such sweet smells and recollections
Of marmalade mischief,
Morning's sizzling bacon,
And everlasting expressions
Filled with joyous effervescence
Bubbling up, through my nose
While tickling my tummy
With love and affection
Oh, to arise each day
To such childlike confections
Is a beautifully and boyishly
Bountiful blessing...

Slow sleeping
In the late afternoon
My memories ease
So deliciously through
Times spent, on my grandmother's farm
Where my imagination grew
And simplicity's charm
Took me deep into adolescence
And my love of life
Discovered
In my youth...

poem bec your talk about your childhood
and going to your grandmother for the summer

Hey T....What a peaceful lovely memory and wonderful lasting thoughts and senses of the days of childhood...your grandmother and the aroma of what all she would cook that is a comfort.  I wish we could always focus on the good memories in life, and throw away the ones that hurt.  I believe recalling memories is both a blessing and curse.  We can go back in time any time we want to and feel young again, or sort through memories that we wish we could change.  I loved my grandparents so much, so I understand the idealistic feelings you get when recalling those days.  I love the picture you picked as well.  Great write of the good ol' days. You are so good at imagery in all your work...and this one played with my sense of smell...lol.  Love n Hugs, xo ;)  C
