Chip away

Chip away,
back through the archive make an honest appraisal,
 identify with whats been staid,
 identify with whats decaying.
sift through  data,
sift through dregs,
unravel and unfold,
even though the reeling off and peeling away is slow and laborious,
even though a thorough self- examination might resemble torture.
Are we serious or merely moving mountains as a means to an end,
when weve finished will it be satisfactory,
can we make restitution can we finally evolve,
unless this becomes a regular habit no advancment can be made,
admitting wrong-doings isnt  always an easy option.
But this is not about flagellation,
this is not about punishment or serving a penance,
but an exercise that could bring recompense,
we could uncover qualitys we thought we never had.
Open up,
let another person in,
clear out  the debris of the past,
dig a little deeper,
go a little further,
without crossing the rubicon,
let whats been dormant reveal itself.
