Choice

Choice

My Grandfather, the wisest man I ever knew!
Once told me;" take care of your feet; and they will take care of you!
Never saw him argue with my grandmother's view,
I believe he lived to the far side of ninety two!

Though he spoke little; he pointed out something as I talked,
Women's knees; in front of us, rubbed together as she walked.
To be serious though; he told me a story I never forgot!
In later years it helped me with my spirituality; a lot!

As he sped in his truck around a corner outside of town!
Saw a box in the middle of the road. and heard a voice say;" go around".
Went around! heeding the insistent voice, truck kicking up rocks!
In his rear view mirror; saw a little boy crawl out the box!

So; listen to your grandfather, and the;" still small voice"!
You might discover your life; has a great deal more choice!

Jim I LOVE this. For its tribute, it's warmth and of course its wise words wrapped within. To listen to that little voice inside each and everyone of us. Wonderfully narrated as always and such a lovely flow that helps the message stick. Just fabulous writing

Wonderful pic too, really gives the poem its nostalgic feel :)

Jim when you write something special you sure do write something special.
In fact something exceptional.
And yes it is ALL about the spirit.
Another superb and engaging write and I believe one close to your heart.
And it's a big heart.
Thank for sharing Jim and full deserved honours and respect to you my friend.
