Christmas

Christmas

such a pretty word - Christmas

America becomes the light on a hill

Salvation Army ringing for the poor

mall awaits the shopping children

grandpa will recite Luke chapter 2

angelic tree mesmerize living rooms

burlap stockings hang from mantle

outside our space bubble - the homeless

they sleep inside cardboard castles

we lie upon satin sheets in our palace

the fat man in a red suit is worshiped

to give unconditionally is Christmas
