Christmas Night

The ornaments sparkle
In the Christmas trees light
Same as the snow
On this bright winter night
As snores fill the house
And dreams dance around
A small red flicker descends on the house
With a jolly ho ho
And quite a squeeze
Jolly Saint Nick descends with a sneeze
With a red nose and bright cheery cheeks
He bends by the tree
To deposit the gifts
For the children to see
Before he leave
He stops for a snack
Of the small Christmas cookies
And warm cup of milk
Then up the chimney
Goes Old Saint Nick
To his sleigh and his reindeer
And his last bag of gifts
And as he flew
Back towards the moon
A small little mouse
Crept towards his boon
So as the snores filled the house
And the tree sparkled like a star
The presents all waited for that near Christmas morning
When the kids would come
And the carols would be sung
And the smiles would glow
With thanks thrown
And family connected
On Christmas morn’
