Poem -

Cigarettes

It’s a recurring nightmare, every night getting worse
The thoughts haunting me and tearing up everything around me
The pills evaporating every feeling I had
Screams from you ingrained in my ears
The hairs on my back stand straight every time I smell a cigarette
You are everywhere
I have ran, erased, cut you out
But you always wessel your way in
Using your snake of a mouth, you poison those around me
Spitting lies and manipulating minds
When I open my eyes there is no one left but you and I
The past bloodsheds flood back
Your crooked mouth smells of cigarettes
You grab me and I begin fading away
Powerless, weak, alone
My eyes open and I’m in a sweat
You lay beside me, making sounds like your motorcycle
A cigarette case stationed beside you
All though you are here, I have never felt more alone
I look down to only see cigarette marks entrenched in my thighs
