City appointment

The traffic snarls
I change gears in my head
And auto crawl along
That black tar vein,
Time seemingly halts 'though
one eye records the tick of the tock
The other searches
For the exit lane.
Time did not halt though
But sped on through the crawl,
Sped past the appointment
And ripped through my soul.
White knuckles grip the wheel as
Desperate indicators flash
There's the exit and a gap
Gears change and through I dash.
Now deposited
In the city chaos
Sorry we don't change appointment times
But you will still have to pay us.
My hand strangled the parking ticket
As I removed it from the wipers grip,
A lesson to you suburbanites
Daring to tackle a city trip.

Hello BydOnz...
City traffic...
Even the vehiclesΒ know the difference they go by the gas mileage...
It always amazes me...
Traffic goes ten miles per hour and then...
BOOM!
Fender bender up ahead...
If I lived in the city again...
I would say...
TAXI!
LOL!
Great write!Β
Thank you for sharing...
