Poem -

City Days

I know it's going to be a good day when Mum goes;

'Want to go to the city with me?'

Yes, Yes I do.

I love the shadows the buildings cast,

The art in all forms, scattered on the walls,

All styles of people,

Bustling around,

Smiling.

City days are good days,

When I go with my Mum,

Feeling the wind in my hair,

Drinking soda from some trendy cafe,

Enjoying what sunlight streams in from the overpowering buildings,

Enjoying the music, buskers on the street,

Shopping with Mum,

Helping local businesses,

City days are the days I wait for,

The days I crave for.

You know it's going to be a good day when I go;

'Can we please, please go to the city?'

And Mum goes;

'Oh all right'

A good day is a city day.
