Poem -

cleansing rain

Drops pitter, patter, splash and spatter,

upon my windowpane,

Tiny water motes each playing notes,

in this endless melody of rain,

lost and alone, far from home,

trees sway and thunders growl,

an empty spark, the stars go dark,

winds sing, and beasts doth howl,

soft music surges, soul's primal urges,

hearts beat and strings do dance,

but soon hearts ache, and strings do break,

left dying a dead romance,

fog mistily shrouds, the headstone clouds,

a love left lone and hollow,

be not afraid, for all sweet lies in time fade,

left with a truth far too bitter to swallow,

a storm of fears, a thick mist of tears,

flames dance, and embers rise,

as loves decay, mind slips away,

so goes a poet's poetic demise.
