Poem -
Cluck off
they're hatching chicks at work,
in an incubator,
Motherless.
They will not feel..
the warmth of a fat breast..
nor be taken underwing..
Everyone is coo ing,
Aren't they cute..
This is our world..
so immune to humanity..
The one thing it needs..
It won't get..
The universal love..
of a mother .
Such a short life
All of us,
Just a spec
In the cosmos

A nursing home near me have a similar 'project' with ducklings, from eggs to birds.
Yet less than three years ago the homes were shut, barring family members to residents, some who never saw their loved ones again.
And here they are introducing feathered species.....during the return of bird flu đ¤Śââď¸đ¤ˇââď¸
The world a strange place - I can't bear to think of the upset caused during COVID.....
